City of Phoenix Water Resources Plan Update 2005

The 2005 update of the Water Resources Plan for Phoenix, Arizona provides guidance for water acquisition, water management and infrastructure actions necessary to ensure an adequate water supply for both the current population and the anticipated growth over the next 50 years. The plan considers water needs under a variety of development scenarios. it also considers surface water shortage conditions, including the potential water supply impacts resulting from global climate change (Chapter IV - Scenario Development & Evaluation).

The 2005 Plan Update was adopted by the Phoenix City Council on March 8, 2006.  The 2010 update to this plan will further evaluate growth and drought conditions. It  will also consider the latest available scientific information regarding the potential impacts of global climate change on water supplies.
