Senior officials from state agencies discussed important action that is underway to combat climate change in the U.S. despite the absence of comprehensive, federal action in Congress in 2010. The event, an official side event at the U.N. Conference on Climate Change (COP16), was hosted by the Georgetown Climate Center and was held on the U.S. stage.
Participants included: Jared Snyder, Assistant Commissioner for the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation; Doug Scott, Director of the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency; Lauren Faber, Assistant Secretary for Climate Change Programs for the California Environmental Protection Agency; and Vicki Arroyo, executive director for the Georgetown Climate Center.
