Georgetown Climate Center is pleased to welcome Nate Burnand, who is joining the Mitigation Program as Senior Associate. Nate comes to GCC from the Michigan Public Service Commission, where he worked with partners throughout state government and beyond to implement the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA). Nate also previously served as an issue specialist in Michigan Governor Whitmer’s administration, where he focused on criminal justice issues.
"Nate's experience at the intersection of state and federal law and policy will help advance GCC's work to strengthen clean energy programs across jurisdictional boundaries," said Melissa Birchard, GCC's Mitigation Program Director. "We are thrilled to have him on our team."
Nate holds a Masters of Public Policy and B.A. in International Relations from Michigan State University. Welcome, Nate!
