CBS News interviewed Vicki Arroyo, executive director of the Georgetown Climate Center, following President Trump’s announcement on June 1 to pull the United States out of the Paris climate agreement.
“The rest of the world might literally put on some kind of a tariff and say we’re embracing carbon pricing strategies,” Arroyo told CBS.
CBS reported that the decision met with fierce opposition among voters but also in political and corporate circles. But according to economics professor Mike Davis at SMU’s Cox School of Business, the decision will have little impact on business.
